How can an internet marketer decide on the best strategic marketing plan that works for their business?

There seems to be as many answers for which strategies to use in what situation than there are internet marketing strategies themselves! There are definitely too many strategies for any one marketer to utilize them all. If you have a very large team with access to multiple internet marketing specialists, your marketing strategies can incorporate most available methods. However, most of us do not have access to that kind of resource.

How Do You Choose Your Internet Marketing Strategies?

There are too many internet marketing options to discuss them all in a short article, but there are three general principles that can make a huge difference to your marketing efforts. Following these principles will not just improve the success of your current internet marketing plan, but can help you figure out where to start focusing your efforts in the first place.

Internet Marketing Career

Three Principles for Making Appropriate Strategic Marketing Choices

1) Be Capable in your Strategic Marketing Not all marketers are created equal. We all have a variety of strengths and weaknesses. Unfortunately we tend to focus more on how to fix our weaknesses rather than how to harness our strengths. It is true we should all strive to improve ourselves, but sometimes the time and effort placed on learning the internet marketing strategies we are struggling with would be better placed finding and perfecting strategies that we already have an aptitude for. When a strategy works well for the majority of marketers it does not necessarily mean it will work well for you. If a particular strategy does not come easily to you, it will take more time and will likely not generate the top quality you need to stand out against your competitors. If you are not adept at something, use a different strategy that you can implement effectively with the unique capabilities you do have, or make the investment to outsource if you have the means to do so.This does not mean we should not learn new strategies! If you are not constantly learning, you will also not succeed. Make sure you are not perpetually spending more time learning something that is difficult for you than you are taking to actually market your product or service. Some great internet marketing strategies are better left for others who have a better aptitude for them. Their expertise will allow them to do it better than you anyway.

2) Care About your Strategic Marketing. Let’s face it; everything we do in marketing is not fun. It is work, and most definitions of work do not include the word ‘fun’. However…take a second and think about sitting in front of your computer to work on your latest marketing project. If you would rather be sitting in the dentist’s chair getting a couple of teeth pulled, you are spending your time with the wrong strategies. Work can actually be enjoyable. At the very least, you should be able to find a few good strategies that beat getting teeth pulled. There are many strategic marketing choices on the internet. Pick the ones you enjoy and care about. If you hate what you are doing, it will show in your work, just as your passion will shine through when you are doing something you love. It will be difficult to put in extra hours when necessary, you will be more apt to give up prematurely, and you will be unable to do exceptional stand-out work if you hate every minute of it.Start by learning the marketing strategies you are most interested in, see which ones you like, and master those first. Eventually learn them all so you can find which methodologies you most enjoy and are best at. These will be the marketing strategies that perform the best for you and are more sustainable in the long run.

3) Be Consistent with your Strategic Marketing For many marketers, the strategy seems to be: ‘Chase the latest and greatest marketing options as soon as they appear.’ They work on something, get mediocre results, then three weeks later when a great new idea comes along, abandon their current efforts and ‘try’ something else. This is not a recipe for sustainable success.Sometimes the latest hot new marketing trend can work wonders and inject a lot of cash into your business. New ideas should be taken advantage of when appropriate. However, if it’s new it is unproven and may fail. Has it been tested in your niche market? Will it still be working a week from now? If you change your marketing plan more often than you change your socks, you will never get really good at anything. You will be spending as much time learning new things as you do actually marketing your product or service.Consistency is the key. If your strategic marketing plan is based on solid and proven strategies and you do not give up and start something new every couple weeks, you will become an expert in those strategies. They will get easier, less time consuming, and start running like clockwork to bring you a consistent stream of clients. It is easier and less risky to learn and test new methods when you have a proven and profitable system already in place to fall back on.Points for Choosing the Right Internet Marketing Strategy– Develop a good strategic base of internet marketing methods that you enjoy and are capable of implementing effectively.

Advanced Internet Marketing Strategies

Advanced Internet Marketing Strategies. Once you have mastered the basics of advanced internet marketing on the internet and are seeing results, you need to move onto advanced internet marketing. Even if you aren’t ready to actually implement advanced marketing, knowing about it in advance can help you prepare for jumping into it when the time is right.

Are You Interested in Advanced Internet Marketing?

Many people learn the basics of internet marketing and then stop. They figure they are doing well right where they are, so there is no reason to move forward. Why mess with a good thing?

There are plenty of reasons why you need to know as much about advanced internet marketing as you can. You may be doing very well on your website right now, but you need to be constantly growing your marketing and adapting to the changing demands of your potential customers if you are going to stay ahead. This is where advanced internet marketing comes into the picture.

In regular marketing, the store across town is your competition. You may only have to worry about staying ahead of a few other businesses in your area. But online, stores all over the world are your competition. You potentially have to worry about hundreds of other businesses trying to steal away your customers. Since the world seems to be growing more impersonal, and customer loyalty is hard to come by anymore, this can represent a big problem to be overcome.

The first thing you should do before focusing on advanced internet marketing is to give yourself a refresher course on any internet marketing strategies you already use. Use updated materials and sources to see if any new strategies have become available. This is a great start because you can put these to work for you without having to learn entire new methods.

Then turn to books, magazines on internet marketing, and well established websites that are recommended. See what is next in line for you to tackle in your marketing campaign.

There are plenty of options available, so you should be able to sift through them to find one that you are not only comfortable using, but is also relevant to your business. Certain advanced internet marketing methods work better for some businesses than others, so only you can decide which direction you wish to take your marketing efforts.

Don’t Rush, but Move Forward

You don’t have to go racing into new marketing right away if you are doing well at the moment. You can use the opportunity to just learn all you can about the methods you are going to implement next. But you do need to always be learning something and preparing for the next stage of your website and business. This keeps progress and growth from catching you off guard.

If your current internet marketing efforts are based around the same tried and true tactics that seem to be working well, consider adding video marketing or perhaps even social networking to your overall marketing. It may not be obvious right now, but you are doing yourself a big favor by learning about advanced internet marketing. Even if you just research it in your spare time, you will begin to formulate ideas and plans for the future of your business. This sort of preparedness and forward thinking will keep you going strong in the market for many years to come.

The concept of Internet Marketing is one that can be difficult for an offline business owner to understand. Making the transition between offline income and online income has proved to be a challenge for many businesses. Internet marketing is the process of promoting products or services is key areas of the U.S. or in the global marketplace. Even traditional marketing companies that have mastered the art of Internet Marketing Training can find it difficult to grasp Internet marketing.

The changes that have taken place to the Google search engine since 2010 has helped spark more interest in companies learning how to manipulate search engine results in their favor. The latest Google Penguin and Google Panda algorithm changes reportedly affected only 20 percent of the search volume. This “absolute and necessary” change by Google did in fact hurt small business owners that have websites online. The biggest change was to websites that are not updated with fresh and unique content on a daily basis.

Internet Marketing Career

One of the factors that Google now considers before ranking websites is the amount of original content that a website generates. The Internet Marketing Training Center and Internet Marketing Coaching Program helps business owners and helps website owners to conquer Google search engine difficulties through expert services.

The amount of entrepreneurs that are creating online companies is another reason for the growing popularity in Internet marketing coaching programs. Companies that have unique product ideas or services usually rely on outside search engine optimization companies to help with online promotion. One drawback to using SEO companies is that the price is usually a fixed amount regardless if results are achieved or not.

The new training that is causing an Internet marketing uproar is now exclusively available to visitors of the Internet Marketing Coaching Program. This training is available completely online and includes streaming video as well as web based marketing training exclusively for businesses and website owners.

Top 10 Strategies For Local Business Marketing

Top 10 Strategies For Local Business Marketing. Many Business Owners and Entrepreneurs struggle with SEO and Search Marketing. Here are some  of the Top 10 Strategies For Local Business Marketing for 2014 !!!

1. Develop an Search and SEO marketing plan first. Performing keyword research, reverse engineering competitor’s SEO, and determining the right link building and SEO tactics are important to do upfront. Make sure your website’s design and content are structured to perform well in search engines.

2. Install and use website analytics programs to drive website marketing decisions. Analytics programs tell you how people found your site, if they are staying on your website, where they are coming from, what content they are viewing, if they are taking desired actions etc. If your website is underperforming, the information available in your analytics can help explain why.

3. Content quality and context are key areas to focus. Website content should be unique and it should be high-quality. Content should not be scraped or derivative (source: Matt Cutts, Google). Search will increasingly look at semantics and the intent of the searcher. Keyword integration alone will not be as effective.  “Content consumed on a mobile device should be optimized for that channel. Understand how your audience is going to use and view that content and then build the right experience around that concept.”

4. Geo-targeting and local search will remain essential for local businesses. All local businesses that are targeting a geographic area should make sure they pursue local SEO tactics, such as optimizing map listings, adding Citations (local listings and directories), and ensuring their website is optimized for local search to name a few.

5. Make sure your marketing message is clear to your customers. Equally important are your Call-To-Actions (CTAs), where you ask a visitor to take a specific action that moves them down your conversion funnel. Strong content directly impacts the effectiveness of your SEO campaign. Make sure your website is “right” first.

6. Mobile can be an important part of getting the edge over your competition. Whether it is your website, your Google PPC ads or your social content, chances are you could improve performance if you were mobile-friendly. Optimizing content for mobile devices is highly recommended.

Signpost "Lead Generation"

7. Own your online reputation. Be proactive and make sure it is positive, professional, and accurate. If it is not, you may be missing out on potential web traffic from your SEO campaign as searchers review your online footprint and go elsewhere. Getting customers to post reviews, issuing news releases and making sure you dominate search engines like Google for searches on your company name are important.

8. Pursue link-building with caution. Especially since Google’s link penalty filter via the Penguin update, links should be from authoritative, credible websites. Spam links or purchased links are not advised, as they can lead to ranking penalties.

9. Choose your social media “outposts” carefully. According to a Content Marketing Institute study, the most successful business-to-business marketers were active on at least seven social media marketing or content channel networks. Seven social networks are often too many to manage for a small business. It’s important to carefully select the right ones where you will get the most return on your time invested. Craft a social media content plan that addresses how each social “outpost” will be used by your company.”

10. Make sure your customer contact strategy is fine tuned. If SEO brings a horse to water, it’s up to your office to be able to close a deal, convert a phone call to an appointment or sale, and manage your internal sales process.

Can You Make Money Blogging?

Can You Make Money Blogging?

If it was easy to make money blogging, everyone would be doing it. The truth is that not everyone finds success, but the ones that do have a system for making a regular income that they can count on.

Here are several things that you can do if you want to make money by blogging that can increase your chances of building an income online. If you implement the following strategies, then you are on your way to building an income.

Choose a topic that you are passionate about.

If you decide to become a blogger, it should be about a topic that you like and are knowledgeable about.
This will let you to provide others with helpful information without you having to do extensive research and struggling to get ideas to write your blog about.

Gain a following.

One way to do this is to find blogs that have a similar topic related to yours. Read the posts that are on that blog and comment on them in a substantial way. In other words, don’t just say a few short words, write a few lines, making an actual commentary on the topic of the post and ask a question or two. Once your comment is approved you will gain an real backlink to your blog and people may click on that link to check your blog out as well.

Check out Forums that are on the same topic

Take advantage of the forum signature to add a link to your blog and with a call to action which will entice people to visit your blog and see what you have to offer. Provide valuable information in the forum by answering questions that people post.

Decide on a style of blog.

Some bloggers choose to do a review style site where they review various items that are completely relevant to the topic of their blog. They can monetize the blog by adding in affiliate links (from ClickBank or Commission Junction) where people have the ability to purchase the item that they are reviewing directly from links embedded into your blog. Once you have a lot of readers to your blog, they will be interested in anything that you review and this can improve your chances earning affiliate commissions.

Build a mailing list.

Add an opt in box to your site where people can sign up for your mailing list. In order to encourage people to sign up, offer a free and useful download of an ebook or some other useful item that people will entice people to give you their information. Never spam your mailing list. Over deliver on useful information that your subscribers will find interesting and gain their trust and appreciation. Once in a while you can monetize your list by finding a good offer that is directly related to your topic and sending out information about that offer to your list. Once your list trusts you, they will be more likely to purchase things you recommend.

When you go about building your blog the right way, you will soon see money flowing from your efforts. This is not an instant way to make money and you will not get rich overnight, but the more time and work you put into the blog, the better your chances of monetizing it.

Advanced Facebook Marketing Strategies

Facebook Marketing is much more than posting a status update once per day. Here are some of my top Advanced Facebook Marketing Strategies.

Know When Fans are Online

If you’re going to post a status update, make sure it’s during a time when as many of your Fans are online as possible. Especially if you don’t post many times per day.

This may seem obvious, but you may be doing more to hurt your Facebook Reach than you know, simply by posting at the wrong times. Good news is, Facebook helps you correct this.

The new version of  Facebook Insights, there’s a graph called When Your Fans Are Online. This charts when your Fans saw content and you can use this tool to learn when to post.

This is found within the Posts section. For more details on how to find it, make sure you check out your Facebook Insights. What’s great about this is that it tells you when your Fans are online by hour, in general or on specific days of the week.

My best times are between 8-10am and between 5pm-7pm San Diego time. So while I do post multiple times per day, I do my best to publish my latest content at the most important time of the day.

Want to reach the most people with your most Facebook Status Updates? Then know when your Fans are online!

Post Often

Opinions on this have varied overtime. It was once believed that you should limit your publishing to avoid annoying your Fans. Some people suggested once per day or only a handful of times per week.

Want to know what I think?? I suggest 2-4 Posts Per Day

More than half of your Fans will be on Facebook every day. Of that number, they’ll be on for an average of 30-60 minutes.

If you don’t post several times per day, then you can’t reach everyone. If you post once, you can only reasonably expect to reach Fans who were on within about a one to two hour window.

Improve your odds of reaching more people by posting when they are online, you need to post multiple times per day. How many times that is will be dependent on the content you have as well as the preferences of your audience.

Don’t repost the same thing multiple times in the same day. And don’t post for the sake of posting, have a plan or strategy behind each post. If quality goes down, your Fans will tune out.

If you can maintain a high level of content, then publish as frequently as you want. I recommend keeping at least a buffer of one hour between posts.

On average, I try to keep posts separated by at least four hours. I then shoot for four to five posts per day. I’ll even schedule a post for the middle of the night when I’m sleeping (more on that in the next step).

If you don’t post today, you can expect to reach a grand total of 0 people. Okay, you may get lucky and reach a few people with old content, but it’s going to be minimal.

If you post once, you’re going to reach as many people as saw that one post. Obvious, right?

But if you post 10 times in a day, how many people will you reach? You’ll reach some of the same people across a few of those. But overall, the unique number of people you’ll reach will skyrocket.

Repost Old Content

One way I post multiple times per day is by scheduling old, evergreen content, this is the post I set aside late at night, often when I’m sleeping.

Every couple of months, I’ll update my list of old content that is popular and still has value. I’ll then create a spreadsheet with a fresh new spin on that post for publishing to Facebook. I pick a different time each night from 10pm to 2am. This way I can reach other people with my posts.

I pick this time at night because it’s unlikely to be a time when I would otherwise be posting. Once again, I’m trying to avoid posting back-to-back without at least a couple of hours in between.

I also publish late at night because I’ll reach a new audience. The first time I would have shared that post, it would have been between 8am and 10am. Not only will my Fan base evolve in between, but I should reach a completely different audience based on the time zones that are awake during that time.

I’ve found this to be extremely effective in terms of reviving my old content. Consistently, I’ll get a couple hundred link clicks from one of these late night shares. That type of traffic adds up!

Want to reach more people? Schedule older, evergreen content during times when you’d normally be sleeping to reach a totally different audience!

Produce Quality Content

Facebook is not a billboard. It’s a social network. And as such, Facebook wants to encourage social activity. If you aren’t being social with a person or brand, they are less likely to share their content with you. Of course they won’t click on every single post. That’s ridiculous. Stop worrying about it on such a micro level.

Produce quality content on a consistent basis that begs to be clicked or engaged with. All you need is a click here and there, and you can expect to be in a user’s News Feed.

Of course, you can’t use old, played out calls to action. Be creative. But no “click like if…” or “comment if…” or “share if…” types of calls to action. Facebook has hinted that this type of stuff will be punished and you can get you negative feedback.

Want to reach more people? Produce quality content that people actually want to see and engage with!

Bump Successful Stories

This is cheating a little bit since it’s related to the last one. But Story Bumping can be very helpful when it comes to reaching more people.

Not sure what Story Bumping is? It was announced back in August as a way to resurface slightly older content that is getting a lot of engagement.

I know that I see a ton of this from my friends these days. They comment on an old photo and it’s at the top of my News Feed. Now imagine that my friend is commenting on an old post from a brand Page?

Now, it’s not clear exactly when this happens. But it’s likely that it needs to be a friend commenting on a post by a Page that you like. So it may not happen frequently and there are benefits for you if you can create content that people will comment on.

This is a big deal because I know there are a ton of brands in the business of creating memes to get likes. That won’t help you. You’re going to need comments.

Want to reach more people? Craft quality content that inspires a comment so that you can benefit from Story Bumping!

finalIMTC LOGO300x300

Build an Audience the Right Way

Want to mess up your Reach? Buy Fans. Or build your audience with poorly targeted ads. Or run contests to build your audience that give away prizes that aren’t related at all to your brand.

This will kill your News Feed and Reach

Build your audience organically by doing all of the things previously mentioned. If you create a lot of high quality content, consistently and frequently, it will end up reaching non-Fans. And you’ll get a ton of Likes that way.

Next, you have to be careful about your ad targeting. Don’t focus on the cheapest price possible. Focus on the relevant countries, and avoid those countries that you see result in spam on your posts. This may mean spending more. It will mean that. But it’s worth it.

Use Custom Audiences to target people on your email list who aren’t current Fans. Get them on board!

Use Graph Search and Lookalike Audiences to find people who are similar to your email list who like specific pages and interests relevant to your niche.
